For anyone in a management role or who has any responsibility for a team; can you answer the question?
Who is your successor?
If you can’t, you should.
Having a young team or an inexperienced team isn’t a reason not to know.
Likewise, being new into a role isn’t a reason for uncertainty either.
Because if you don’t know, you’re failing yourself and your organisation.
So if you don’t know, find one.
Pick them out.
Do everything you can to get them ready to do your job.
Give them as much as you reasonably can.
And enjoy the rewards that it brings.
